Welcome prospective and returning Farmers & Makers Market vendors!
On this page you'll find a link to our Vendor Handbook. It contains all the details and references relevant to your participation in our market. You'll find general vendor requirements for vending at an Alberta Approved Farmers Market, specific requirements for our market, including vendor expectations, market day details, supplies and equipment you'll need, stall set up and more.
Each year, we update our Vendor Handbook to ensure our policies are clear, fair, and reflect our commitment to our vendors, community, and our regulating bodies. This handbook aims to support safe, fun, and sustainable markets with policies and procedures that lead to success for all of our vendors.
It is your essential Market operations resource to review before you apply, and to use regularly after you are accepted!
We are an Alberta Approved Farmers Market operated by the Calgary Earth Market Society, certified and administered by the regulations of the Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Farmers Market Program, and adhering to the provincial and federal legislation for Farmers Markets outlined in Part 3 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation, the Supporting Alberta’s Local Food Sector Act, the Safe Food For Canadians Regulation, the AGLC, and others.
Our founding market vendors and community supporters have established the Calgary Earth Market Society, becoming Calgary’s first “by-vendors, for-vendors” Farmers’ Market. Successful applicants to the market become voting members in this Society; and active voices in growing the success of their individual businesses along with market as a whole.
