Farmers and makers market volunteers

Market Day Volunteer Opportunities 
 

Volunteering offers a meaningful way to contribute to building a more sustainable food system while supporting lively farmers markets throughout Calgary. There are many different ways to get involved with the Farmers & Makers Markets as a volunteer!

 

What Farmers & Makers Market Volunteers do: 

​

  • Create welcoming atmospheres at the markets

  • Assist market staff with market setup and teardown

  • Assist market staff at our Welcome Booth

  • and so much more!

​

Available Shifts Wednesdays and/or Saturdays:

​

  • Set Up/Tear Down 2h

  • Welcome Booth 4h

  • Full Day Set-Up, Welcome Booth, Tear Down 7.25h 

  • Market Photographer/Videographer at-market flexible

  • Street Team 

​

  • Meet lots of neighbour hood pets 

 

How to Volunteer

​

Make sure you meet the requirements:

  • Be at least 15 years old

  • Most shifts require walking standing, and lifting / shifting up to 25 Kg. with a teammates help, please let us know if you require one of our  shifts that can accommodate all physical abilities. 

  • Be able to commit to at least 15 hours of shifts over the season

As a Alberta Approved Farmers Market, we will run every Saturday from May 23, 2026 to October 17, 2026 at cSPACE Marda Loop. Each market features 50+ local vendors, live music, and a vibrant community vibe. We also host pop-up markets like our spring & Christmas market. 

As a not-for-profit, we rely on amazing volunteers like you to help make it all happen. We're so glad you're here!
